A dependency might be a contracted service.  For example, you hire a copywriter to deliver articles by the 1st of the month.  In fact, I would say the most common dependencies are contracted services (for Web design, graphic design, publicity and PR, etc.).

Another type of dependency would be a required compatibility between two or more components.  For example, suppose you&#039;re changing out your CMS and all of a sudden you find your widgets, gadgets, gizmos, and plug-ins don&#039;t work.  Now what do you do?
